Flitlane privacy policy
Flitlane: Arrow Puzzle, by cdogames. Last updated 14 October 2026.
In short: Flitlane works fully offline and sends nothing unless you turn on the leaderboards, progress backup or error reports yourself. There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no accounts with e-mail or passwords. Nothing is sold or shared.
If you never turn anything on
Your progress and settings stay on your device. The game makes no network connections, apart from opening the itch.io page in your browser if you tap the Donate button, and one exception: the Windows and Android versions ask the Flitlane server which version is newest when they start (and again after six hours away), so they can offer an update. That request carries no name, number or progress, and no record of it is kept. The web version doesn't make it.
Leaderboards (optional)
Joining the leaderboards (you pick a name) sends to the Flitlane server:
- the name you choose (shown publicly on the boards) and a random player number made by your device;
- your results: stars, bumps, undos, time taken, and which board and date (Dailies, the weekly challenge, and campaign, Mirror, Journey and pack boards), with each run's league points (worked out from those results);
- a few totals: Daily streak, Journey progress, Crown Jewels, Gold medals, shiny stickers and arrows fired;
- the friend codes you add, and the game's version number.
Everyone who joins can see the names and results on the boards. Your 6-letter friend code is shown only to you, to share as you like. Don't use your real name if you'd rather not.
Progress backup (optional)
Turning on backup sends a copy of your save file (levels, stars, coins, stickers, medals, settings, shop items and your leaderboard name if you joined) so you can restore it on another device with your recovery code. The server keeps only a scrambled form (a hash) of your recovery code and of your device's secret key, never the code or key itself; the copy of your save never includes the key. Anyone who has your recovery code can load your progress, so keep it to yourself. A backup untouched for two years is deleted.
Error reports (optional)
If you switch on Settings → Credits & privacy → Send error reports, the game sends a short note when something goes wrong: the error message, where in the game's own code it happened, how many times, the game's version and the platform (Windows, Android or web). If the game closed unexpectedly, that is noted too. Reports carry no player number or name, and any file paths on your device are removed first. They are kept until the developer has read and cleared them.
What the server does not keep
No IP addresses are logged for leaderboard or backup requests. When the server refuses a request (for example because one connection sends too many too fast), its error log can briefly record the connection's IP address; those logs are deleted after 14 days. No e-mail addresses, real names, locations, device identifiers or advertising IDs are collected.
Where it's stored and for how long
- The server is a private machine run by cdogames at Hostinger, in Boston, USA. Connections are encrypted (HTTPS).
- Daily results are deleted after about 13 months. Everything else stays until you delete it.
- The server keeps nightly copies of its database for 14 days, so deleted data disappears from those copies within 14 days.
Deleting your data
In the game: Settings → Start over, with Delete my online data too switched on. That deletes your name, results, friend code, friends, league standings, gifts, progress backup and recovery code from the server straight away (or as soon as your device is next online). One thing lingers: the admin's own activity log (for example "renamed X to Y" or "sent coins to X") keeps a name for up to 180 days, after which it is deleted too. Leaderboards → name → Stop sharing my results takes you off the boards without deleting your progress. Settings → Backup & transfer → Turn off automatic backup stops new backups.
Purchases
Donations on itch.io are handled by itch.io under its own privacy policy; Flitlane never sees your payment details. Supporter codes are checked inside the game, without contacting any server.
Children
Flitlane is suitable for all ages. Younger players should ask a parent before joining the leaderboards, and should never use their real name there.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too, and anything new that is sent will be explained in the game before it happens. Questions or requests: leave a comment on Flitlane's itch.io page.
